Shyfrin Alliance's "Colours of Time" Review

none

Every so often, you hear a song that seems to know what you haven't been able to tell. That feeling was achieved through the music of "Colours of Time" by Shyfrin Alliance. The heart of the band is Eduard Shyfrin, who brings his mathematical, physical and philosophical background to the song in subtle ways. It's definitely rock music, but it's music that's filled with real emotion and lived experience.

I noticed his voice first, at Shyfrin. His deep baritone is warm and familiar, almost comforting. It feels like each line is from real life. As he sings of love, loss and perhaps regret, I listened more closely. There is no drama or overstatement. Rather, his voice is like a memory that you keep going back to.

I liked the most about the music was that it was restrained. The guitar's tone is soothing and comforting, as if speaking to an old friend. Then the organ slowly ascends in the background, evoking a sense of nostalgia that seems to come before you realize it. The rhythm section is solid throughout, allowing the song to breathe. The recording is sincere and heartfelt, like listening on vinyl in a quiet room.

Words are about time, memory and life experiences that make us who we are. They don't tell you what to think. Rather, they sit with you and allow your thoughts to emerge. I was constantly reminded of experiences in my own life as I listened. This mood is likely to resonate with Pink Floyd or Peter Gabriel fans. "Colours of Time" is more than a song. It's a feeling that lasts a lifetime!
