Michellar's "Never Say Sorry" Review

Something about sinking into Never Say Sorry by Michellar seems like making yourself a warm blanket on a cool night, letting the music surround you with all the worries of the day soothed off. This San Francisco based artist who goes by the name Michelle Bond lives in her soul with each note, this has caused her to create a track which is rough and naked based on her 28 singles and an EP on her in less than a year. Her voice is wavering with true emotion and she draws you into the narrative of desire and true bonding that is heartbreakingly personal.

It is a combination of an old-school country and an indie folk whimsical, and it moves in an attentive manner, creating reflection without rushing. The setting came about in partnership with Tobias Wilson, a demo in San Fran, refined in the waves of Staffordshire, the orchestration is breathing with faintly applied layers, without being too much felt at the center of the heart.

The themes that run through me the most are the broken relationships memories, the need of true love that in any case returns, and the silent development that it creates. The songwriting of Michellar is brilliant here as she calls her beloved home as the subject of personal introspection became an object of general solace. It is hopeful at the margins, as any embrace by a friend, and it can be recalled as being like my own adventures in love making and the calm of forgetting sorries.

There is a sincerity in this, in an era of transient pop, a landmark in her anniversary of her first full-produced music. I put it on repeat when I was on a lone walk, and I felt positive, as though Michellar was talking to my dreams. It is not just a song but it is a soft power, a mixture of genres into the effect of an emotional appeal. Put it on your playlist; it will feed your soul and make you come to the belief in the re-emergence of love.
