Milyam's "Dream" Review

none

MILYAM's soft, delicate sound begins her song "Dream". It reminds me of a little music box, and I wanted to hear it again. The beginning is interesting because there's a sense of something unexpected. From the first few seconds, the song gets my attention before I realize what to expect.

The bass starts off with a much stronger sound than the opening. The drums are light and fast and move around under the music. The tune remains constant through the piece. Despite the darker Art Rap sound, the song is easy to remember and each part works well with the others.

MILYAM's voice is playful and yet direct and confident. She challenges someone's behavior; she doesn't like what they are doing and lets them know. The beat of the hip-hop music makes her words stand out. She has a real sense of feeling in her delivery of each line, holding my attention.

The focus starts to shift in the song as it moves forward. MILYAM begins to think about what she will do next rather than focusing on what another person is doing. Her voice is more at ease and confident. This change seems to mark a new direction in the music. The song turns into a story about her future and what she wants to do.

I enjoy how simply this change happens. The music doesn't have to get louder to make the point. The beat keeps going, and the bass has a strong sound as well, but they both seem to give her confidence. The words felt stronger, and I began to feel the beat.

There's also a feeling that MILYAM is building something that's hers. In MILYAM EMPIRE, she shows how to do things in her own way. This sense of independence is also reflected in the music. It all feels natural and true to her, with a sense of her own style.

“Dream” still lingers in my mind, and that's probably why. It shows how a story can begin with uncertainty and end with the main character feeling sure of herself. It's a simple idea, but one that means something to me. The sense of hope stays with me even after the first sound has faded.
