Since watching the work of Brian Noyes, I cannot set my mind free from “Dollhouse Man” as the images of this video keep on replaying themselves in my head. Many thanks to that, the indie rock of the song, which reduces the storey to its lowest level, captures me completely. Guitars open the bright and beautiful melody; however, the dark feeling remains with me all the time. Gloomy and whispered like a confession, Brian sings about loneliness and desire, but what he sings resonates with the soul. That chorus? These musical notes linger in my head as if they were some memories I dreamt, at least that is how they sound to me. At the later part of the song, when the bridge goes for the instrumental part or the piano, my emotions are torn beautifully just like what the song wants. This track also employs the eccentricity with the real soul that is inherent only to Brian’s style. When listening to “Dollhouse Man”, it leaves the audience with the feeling that they are reading an engrossing book they cannot put down. Trust me, you’ll feel it too.
