Songs of a Lost World is an album that contains all songs and is the first album release by The Cure after sixteen years of inactivity though it could be considered as the band’s album of memorial and grieving. To the opening of the song, Robert Smith incorporates a bitter vocal delivery, setting the sorrow mood of the track from the beginning and throughout. The two tracks combine the aspects of darkness and light through production techniques as The Cure does in its approach to music and Bereavement as the theme. The presence of guitar with many truss contributes to vocal and lyrical values of the song in addition to complementing the core secular message. The music correlates towards the hardships of the soul but evolutions into a testimony of triumph through hardships as per memories offered by the speaker, Smith. As for the album, its possible to note that in the discography of The Cure, “Songs Of A Lost World” can be considered as rather peculiar.
