From the first gentle piano notes TaniA’s voice so raw and so full of feeling pulls you into a safe haven of peace and yes a beacon as the only thing that lifts your spirits.
TaniA’s vocals are a force, utilizing a five-octave range that floats between soft lows and the highest of highs with her husband Rynellton’s harmonies adding a lovely gospel tinge. Rynellton produced the track which quickly builds, the soulful swells climbing into the back of the track with amazing piano playing the melody that feels like a journey from darkness to light. This is intimate and grand – it’s a personal confession to the world. The chorus singing the backing vocals magnifies this song, because it’s a victory song and it is hard earned when you have accepted yourself for yourself.
What is special about this song is the truth. This is about getting out from under the lies, whether of abuse, bullying, or your own mind that make you seem lesser. TaniA’s story of finding her core feels like she is singing for me too. I’ve carried those heavy chains, wondering how much I am worth. Self love is not a buzzword, it’s a lifeline for growth and connection and a reminder to myself that you don’t have to make amends for anything.
For me, “I AM Good Enough” is the song you play when you tell yourself in your head, over and over, ‘I am good enough’ in order to remember it. Defiant and Fearless, TaniA Kyllikki took her storytelling and inclusive heart, and condensed it into a ballad, a mirror and a light.
