JC Flow's "Fractured Sky" Review

none

I was taken aback by JC Flow's Fractured Sky. I didn't think that it would stick with me like it did. It creeps in little by little without being too obvious. Once I heard the first few bars, I sat there for awhile, reminiscing about all the things I thought of.

The guitar is used throughout the piece as a kind of steady beat to follow. It holds it all together as the beats and deep tones play beneath. JC Flow transitions from talking to singing with ease and naturalness. There is no overcrowding in the music. It is as if each part is in the right place.

While I was listening, I began to think of all the things I wish I hadn't done. I recalled instances where I clung to some past errors for a longer period than necessary. The song reminded me of the heavy stuff, but also of letting it go. It made me remember that nothing changes until you make the choice to do so.

One part slowly grows again and then settles down again. Once that change has occurred, it sticks with you. JC Flow is aware of how to allow the music to breathe rather than searching for all emotions. It's a song that's so much more real and honest about yourself and I think many people will resonate with that.

Fractured Sky is unique in that it is written with the heart. JC Flow's personal journey in Seattle is incorporated into the song and it's authentic. It does not go away without hope when it comes to difficult emotions. There's still a chance to believe that better days are to come. I find myself returning to it many times when I find my mind is not fully organized.

I really like the progression of the song from a struggle to a more relaxed thing. It doesn't sound like everything is going to be fine for the time being, but it does make you feel slightly lighter. JC Flow shares his personal experiences as a learning journey for others. I can still feel that quietness when I listen to that song.

I like songs that are aware of the life stage. Fractured Sky allows the hard things without getting stuck in them. One of my songs to listen to when I'm feeling a bit lost in the world and my mind is on overload. JC Flow is creating music that really means something.
