The follow-up, “I’ll Like You” is also far from frivolous, and shows additional evolving of ILLITs musical style. It seems that the K-pop newcomers do not step away from cheerful tunes with target images and lyrics focusing on the young crushes and sentiments. The sound of the album is not radically different from the previous, but here and there are quieter and more developed lyrics at the same time. The group’s vocals are also quite outstanding, and the lyrics chosen for all the songs allow the listener to understand the beautiful structure of young love in each song. There is clear production which helps in improving the quality of the work as it is being listened to. Overall, “I’ll Like You” is a welcome addition to the universe of the K-pop singers and bands and it is an apt album for ILLIT.
