The song begins with an airy sound of synthesisers and vocals soaring, that take one to another world. Because Matare moves from the barely audible in the song’s verses to pained shouts during the chorus, which symbolises the duality of the two modes of death. The thickness of the layers ensures that it is a very engaging record and the punchy beat and wall of sound of distorted synths give it a dark feel. Entertainment lovers particularly fans of FKA Twigs and Björk will find ‘The Siren’ an exciting piece that is quite memorable after it is over.
