It’s a wildly goofy album, technically the Mermaid Chunky’s debut, although it won’t be possible to describe the music of this band easily. It is a group from Gloucestershire containing impact of folk, house and psych-pop that makes the music interesting and creative. Their lyrics are bizarre and deal with characters and therefore, given a song, each track is different and has its jokes. The silly nature of the tracks is also paralleled with good beats that make the listeners want to dance. Performing arts duet Freya and Moina bring a certain spirit to the music which is rather unconventional and catching. “Slif Slaf Slof” is a perfect example of otherwise experimental and experimental work in the concept of avant-pop music.
