Deadletter's "Hysterical Strength" Review: A Dance with Contradictions

Hysterical Strength is Deadletter’s first album where the post-punk sensibilities are preserved but where the lyrics delves deep into emotional conviction. By so doing, Deadletter is able to achieve an ominous instrumentals that is complemented with happy tunes to make a good music session. There is translated the KADOK’s highway-rifled guitar and accurate drum beat which introduces the lyrical reflection about human contradictions. Each song of the album helps listeners go through emotional experiences and blend power with hooks. Despite its gloomy themes, Hysterical Strength qualifies as a strong disc for the band as it also introduces positive aspects of the band. Post punk domination is well depicted in the debut album by Deadletter.
