Anemone by The Backlash appears to transform into a whirring shoegazer song that surrounds the listeners’ ears completely. Filled with reverb guitar and breathy vocals the group’s song gives of a feeling of an ambiance that conveys dream like passion. Nonetheless, it is rather fast moving because of the outstanding performance of the backing track but unclear in terms of lyrics or the song’s theme makes it magical. Specifically, the harmony of the song has elements of both the past and present which should appeal to fans of My Bloody Valentine and Ride. The audio experience from “Anemone” allows a listener to sail through a cosy sea of sounds that are inviting in the different audio tracks offered.
